A few years ago, when I left my home to start my life

My life didn’t start when I was actually born or when I had my first experience. 

But it started when I left everything behind

Everything I grew up with and knew my life with. 

The journey of a life to know how’s to be free can feel like.

That time my father took my hands and looked into my eyes with his wise, strong voice, telling me; 

"You’re leaving everything behind, your family, your city, your country, your people, you’re leaving everything you knew to a mystery, to something you don’t know, a new language, country, people!"

We’re afraid of the unknown! So once you go deep inside it, you free yourself from it.

My mom told me, years later

"You went through a lot to make yourself the person we all know now!"

It took me everything and everyone to make it.

Free yourself from your fears.

You’ll not reach righteousness unless you spend and give freely what you truly love!

In that exact moment, I had to go, to chase my dreams and face my fears

To not give up in learning and living with joy!

Change the stereotypes of Arabic women from myself to myself and to the world!

There’s no worse thing that can happen to you, the worst that you thought already happened

Now, it’s only the good things that will make you stay here and enjoy!

To all the versions I once was;

I HAVE NO ENERGY LEFT

“I HAVE NO ENERGY LEFT” I said that after doing my best. I have no fight left in me for those who have no dignity, for those who are different in a good or bad way, just different. The ones who don’t align with my values. The ones who choose themselves over others, Who listens to one side and refuse to hear the other. Who thinks twice before giving, who think twice before loving, who think twice about sharing their food not only that, but carry such heavy moods they make you question your own goodness, as if it’s not enough, or not as worthy as theirs. Those who see the world differently who decides who is right and who is wrong, who deserves land more than another, Who deserves a visa? a paper, or even a mother. To the politicians’ anger. To women-haters. I had no energy left in me. To those who cannot dream. To those who do not dare. To live life I wish to spare myself. To the greedy. To the needy. To the ones who do not dare to dream, yet still dare to scream!

Take wisdom from the mouths of crazy people
